“The Rag Dolls From Hell”
Collection
RE: RAG DOLLS FROM HELL, an on going series of Drypoint, Chine Colle’/Intaglio Prints.
Jack Cassady’s “The Rag Dolls From Hell” is about whimsical exploration of color, action, line & shape, and the legend of the printed image.
The concept originated in 1987, the artist/teacher was demonstrating how to make a drypoint print and came up with the Rag Doll image, to make it more exciting he added chine colle’ (colored hand made paper glued and printed at the same time to fine art paper). The series started as a fun thing and is still continuing today. All the prints are monotypes and no two are the same.
Many of the prints are in public & private collections, and have been exhibited in Toronto.
Many of the prints have been donated to fundraising projects, such as the Hospital for Sick Children and the New Princess Margret Hospital in Toronto.
