THE BIKERS SERIES

RE: THE BIKERS SERIES, a series of Acrylic paintings.
Jack Cassady’s “Bikers Series”, is about a Biker’s Funeral and Jack’s experience with the motorcycle
The concept for this series originated in 2001. Jack had a studio just down the street from the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club House on Eastern Ave. in Toronto at the time. He was just getting back from lunch with a friend and along came a motorcycle procession of about 60 bikes from the funeral parlor up the street. Jack’s friend Barbara had a through away cardboard camera in her car and Jack got out with it and took some photographs, all the while Barbara was saying get back in the car and that he was crazy and was going to get them killed but Jack wasn’t worried. He used to have a 1956 Harley Davidson Sportster and had dealings with motorcycle clubs in the past. He was also looking to see if his bike was in the procession, his bike was stolen in 1974, and he was always on the lookout for it, although the police said that it was probably in Michigan that night when Jack reported it stolen. Every spring Jack gets the bike fever and this series was away of dealing with it.
That year Jack purchased a Mac G4 Dual Processor computer and scanners etc. so he scanned the photographs and experimented with them in Photoshop.
